August 27 Field Trip to Hudson Valley Sheep and Wool Company

On August 27, some of us traveled to the Hudson Valley Sheep and Wool Company in Red Hook. See here to learn something about this place.

When we got there, they gave us a full tour of the plant, showing us raw fleece, how it gets cleaned, carded, spun and wound. Fascinating.

From there, we drove up to Tivoli to Fabulous Yarns and hung around there for awhile. Then on to Rhinebeck for a deeeelicious lunch at Gigi's.

Looking good -- and the sheep weren't too shabby, either.
