I am enjoying your favorite blogs----especially "Cast On" and the section on "Mend and Make Do". This is so alien to the cultural/economic mores of the past half century+----but there are those of us who remember the frugality of WWII with its "keep and make do" mandates, and then the explosion of consumerism that followed. Maybe this helps explain our senseless pack-rat habits. We don't "mend", and we don't "make do", but we sure do "keep" stuff. Maybe it is time to "mend and make do"----and KNIT if we want new things.
