Knitting Classes at the Knitting Garage in Rhinebeck

You all know about the classes at Knit With Judy in New Paltz. I thought I'd share some of the love by letting you know what other classes there are in the area. Something may strike your fancy that is closer to where you live or work than Knit With Judy classes.  Or maybe they offer something you can't get here, or at a more convenient time. Or maybe you want to try something new, or attend with a friend who doesn't live close to here. Most of the other classes are held at local yarn stores, so you can also check out their scrumptions supplies.

We'll start with Doris Formby's classes at the Knitting Garge in the historic Al Stickles department store in the heart of Rhinebeck. Classes here are largely project-based and meet on Saturday mornings. It looks like there are a lot of fun projects in the works there this month.

In addition, Doris offers a Tuesday evening beginner's class and private lessons.

Check out all the classes here: Knitting Garage 2014 spring classes.

  1. Judy, it is very kind of you to post my schedule :) Just a quick correction: The beginner's knitting class is Tuesday afternoons, not evening (the shop closes at 5pm).
I love teaching; it is such a joy to see new knitters enjoying this art. I teach a good number of private lessons with much patience. Private lessons are the easiest way to guarantee not to be left behind. The Saturday morning classes are good if you want to get set up with a new project. You will "read" the pattern and get your project on the needles. Any additional help you need later on is included in the class fee.
If you have never been to the Knitting Garage you should check it out. As Judy says it is located in the back of the historic five and dime shop AL Sticke right in the heart of Rhinebeck and has an awesome variety of yarns. :)
